Vladimir Kovčin, MD, PhD

Biography

Dr Vladimir Kovčin is an internal medicine specialist and clinical oncology subspecialist with decades of experience treating oncology patients. He began his medical internship at the Institute of Oncology and Radiology in Belgrade, in the malignant hemopathies department. He finished his internal medicine residency in 1990 and his subspecialisation in 2008. In 1989, he completed his master’s thesis in immuno-oncology, and in 1995, he defended his PhD dissertation in oncology. He was elected associate professor of internal medicine and oncology at the US Medical School. He worked at KBC Bežanijska kosa as the head of the department for systemic malignant disorders and malignant hemopathies, the director of KBC Bežanijska kosa, and the head of the medical oncology department. He has published dozens of scientific and professional publications in both domestic and international journals. The Ministry of Science and Technology of the Republic of Serbia appointed him as a senior scientific associate in the field of oncology in 2007.
