Dr Predrag Dugalić was born in 1964 in Belgrade, where he achieved excellent results in his elementary and high school education. He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Belgrade in 1989, with an average grade of 9.96. During his academic pursuit, he earned several diplomas and awards, including the October Award of the City of Belgrade for students in 1986 and the First University Award of the City of Belgrade in 1987.
Dr Dugalić is an active member of the Gastroenterological Section of the Serbian Medical Association (SLD). He served as the secretary of the section between 1997-2000 and has since 2015 been the President of the Gastroenterological Section of SLD for a four-year term. In 1998, he was nominated as a member of the Research Committee of the World Gastroenterological Organization, representing Yugoslavia.
During his education and training, Dr Dugalić completed three study stays in America, Sweden and Italy. In 2009, he introduced radiofrequency ablation of Barrett’s oesophagus into daily clinical practice, making Serbia the first country in the Balkans to use this technique. Moreover, since 2010, he has had a license as a Central Reader for clinical studies of American pharmaceutical companies. He became a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA) in 2015.
Dr. Predrag Dugalić is primarily interested in diagnostic and interventional endoscopy of the digestive tract, as well as diseases affecting the esophagus, stomach, pancreas and colon, including Barrett’s esophagus, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), and functional disorders of the digestive system.
